Safe Cookie DisclosuresFor Viewers All Over the World:Like many websites you view, we count the number of visitors. Only aggregated data are counted, such as how many visitors each web page received. We count numbers of visitors to a page in total, with no individual-user-level information. It is completely safe to allow our cookies because no 3rd party cookies, also known as cross-site tracking cookies, exist on any of our pages. All are 1st party cookies for counting visits to a page. This poses no danger to the viewer. Unfortunately, the processes by these browsers to identify unsafe websites were either not working properly, (such as missing Server Name Indication support in the TLS encryption protocol), or not sophisticated enough to discriminate between safe and unsafe uses of cookies by website administrators. So the browsers, including some listed above, would misrepresent sites that were highly safe and secure (historically and statistically) as if they were unsafe and not secure. Some browsers allowed the user to create an "exception" for a specified website. In this case you could type in the url of this site and remove the browser's block on it. This positive feature still appears in some browsers in 2023. In 2023 the browser security features were updated and many of the faulty security protocols were fixed. Therefore, now the user can choose to block only 3rd party cookies. Warnings are given by most browsers against blocking all cookies, because most 1st party cookies are safe. A 1st party cookie is a text file that only pertains to the one site from which it came. A 3rd party cookie pertains to a different website that is secretly gathering information on the viewer. If you wish to block cookies, we suggest you choose to block only the 3rd party cookies in Chrome and Android, and only the cross-site tracking cookies in Firefox and Safari. If after doing so, if you see warnings for this site like: "Connection not secure", "You are not securely connected to this site", or Parts of this page are not secure (such as images)", you can rest assured that the entire site is secure and all the pictures are secure. In my opinion, the browser company may be trying to protect itself from liability by giving blanket disclaimers regarding insecurity if the site has ANY cookies. Something available on major browsers in 2023 is called Enhanced Safe Browsing, or Enhanced Tracking Protection. In the privacy settings, turning it on can protect you from 3rd party cookies. Because we use 1st party cookies safely, it helps this site's administration know how effective our methods are at reaching people with the messages we offer. Please consider allowing our cookies. Some browsers still have trouble recognizing safe SSL certificates. For example, they sometimes falsely identify a certificate as unsafe or not secure because the website owner's name is not listed. However, the most common SSL certificate type is OV - making up 80.5% of certificates in 2023. This certificate type does not indicate the owner's name. As part of the 80.5% population, this works well for us since we want to stay anonymous for valid reasons covered in the Privacy Statement, and because it is within our rights. Ironically, the browser's attempt to block a site with an OV certificate type not including an owners' identity is morally a flagrant privacy violation. Hopefully the browser industry will recognize this and correct it soon, as they have done with the 2022 issues mentioned above. SSL was designed to keep the internet connection secure. It does this by encrypting data so it is virtually unhackable. It does this quite well at all times. Malware is not a threat to you as a result of our site. However, it is a rampant and malicious practice on the web, and we applaud the industry's fight to end it. We are hoping and starting to see that the industry is improving its requirements to be more thoughtful by not blocking safe sites, like this one. Because of all these things, our site is in the safe zone.
